Last month, I was honored to be invited to a private audience with world renowned tenor, Jose Carreras.

It was incredible to get up close and personal with the singer in such an intimate environment – we all know him as an international star but I was able to catch a glimpse of the real person behind the fame.

What struck me most was his consciousness to everything around him. He was telling me about how sensitive his voice was to temperature and humidity, so he had requested that the air conditioning be turned off that evening. I was humbled by how dedicated he was to his art, that such a small detail, which honestly no one in the room would have noticed, was that important to him. It was amazing to see how tight his band of perfection is, it’s so rarefied and ethereal that he has taken his art to a finite level.

As for his music, it really transports one to another place. It was a magical night.
